The Norwood Fire Protection District was established in 1953. Originally it consisted of 70 square miles around the towns of Norwood and Redvale. In 2008 the district was expanded to an area of 380 square miles. The district serves a population of approximately 2,500 in south central Montrose County and central San Miguel County.
A five member elected Board of Directors oversees the operations and budgets for the Norwood Ambulance and Norwood Fire Rescue.
The dedicated 40 member all-volunteer staff serves this area with pride and distinction. If interested in applying for membership, contact us for more information.
